The Forest Trolls

Deep in Norway's woods live the skogtroll — quieter and shyer than their mountain kin, said to blend so completely into the trees and undergrowth that most people walk right past without noticing. They keep to the shadows, wary of sunlight and human eyes alike, tending to some old, unspoken order of the forest. Not menacing, just private — old inhabitants of a wild that still remembers a time before roads and towns.
